The Local on magnolia Beach hwy in central reopened Saturday. Smoke their own meats, pickle own veggies, home-make own sauces, etc. Inga's was tops while I was near lsu, but the Local is right up there. Anyone else been before the flood and can back me up on this?

Its legit. Far as hell, but worth the drive every once and a while.

Location sucks, building sucks, atmosphere sucks, food is great.

I want to try the hog head cheese eggrolls.

Glad to hear they're reopened! I loved that place and it's only about 5 minutes from my house

I agree - some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The location is the only thing preventing me from being a more frequent visitor. Their hogs head cheese is seriously legit

You're kidding, right? That's like comparing Subway to Katz's.

I wanted to try it before the flood, but man it's far as hell. My parents live in Central, and it's still a 20 minute drive from their house. More like 30+ from my house in BR.

This is old news. The mid-city Anthony's Italian Deli opened up a year or so ago.

Anthony's is HORRIBLE. Trying to pass off a George foreman pressed sandwich as a muffaletta is criminal. It's the worst muffaletta I've ever eaten. Pocorello's is the only place to go for a muff in BR.

Less than five minutes from my house. In the LP north of Denham, not Central, technically. The house made pastrami is insane. So glad they are back!
