If I'm going see world class spas and pools after I've had a long wedding process, I better be somewhere better than freaking Florida.

Some folks are awfully sensitive about Disney. This thread has made me laugh, but I hope the OP got enough restaurant destinations.
I love Disney. I'm a sucker for parades and fireworks.

It IS amusing watching people get so worked up about Lester Earl's thoughts over their personal leisure travel choices.

I'm especially fond of the giant turkey legs in Frontier Land at the magic kingdom.

I don't see how anything I've posted comes across as being sensitive. If anything it's been the non-Disney people that seem to not understand. I'm always educating people on the topic and if nothing else it helps them move beyond the idea that WDW is just Fantasyland. And Louisiana Lady, it's fine that you dont care for Florida, but I also dont see the need to hop on a plane and go half way across the world for a beach destination when Florida has some really nice examples of that as well. If I'm getting on a plane to fly overseas it's going to be to Europe to see the UK, Ireland, and Scotland.

There's a difference between not understanding or disagreeing with someones travel choices and being rude about it. Calling people creepy was rude. Different strokes for different folks, people! If you don't get it, that's fine! You can have a discussion about it without being inconsiderate! I think that's why people got so worked up.

they can make fun of my vacation ideas, but i wont throw a fit over it, i know that.
When you said something about going somewhere natural, I pictured you camping out on your honeymoon. I can't think of anything worse than that right off hand.
Oh yeah, and off the "beating" path was a funny typo in there. You gonna refrain from beating the spouse while on vacation, LE?
I'd much rather sleep in Cinderella's Castle with the mice!

What makes it ideal? Its loud & noisy, its crowded, tons of children.
I knew Disney had its small collection of enthusiasts. And Im pretty sure you'd have to be one to call it an ideal honeymoon destination. Seems like something rednecks would do for a honeymoon. The same reason I dont think it is an ideal honeymoon destination is the same reason i don't think it is an ideal place for adults to vacation. Everyone has their different ideas of fun. I'd rather a type of natural setting, off the beating path, where fun can be had. Not manmade attractions and such to keep me entertained
How dare you!!! Obviously you have never experienced that is the MAGIC of Disney World you clown!

Again I dont see how what I posted comes across as that. I think if nothing else in this thread, Mr. Earl at least understands that Disney is not just Alice in Wonderland tea cups. I'm not upset that he doesn't like Disney. People that enjoy relaxing vacations like beach resorts usually dont. I've always said I need a vacation when I get back from spending a week at Disney.

i recanted pretty shortly thereafter that creepy may have been harsh. It was the first word that came to mind though.

Well, you just go right on along. It's not necessary to invite me unless there's a posh hotel with a 5 star restaurant next to your tent!
Camping is creepy, LE! Creepy!! To me, anyway...

Fair enough. He was at a loss for the right words, then.
