It must be. It was completely booked for all the days and times we wanted.

I was underwelmed for breakfast there...

Russian, here is what I recommend since ya'll are going with kids...don't waste time on the long breakfast(es)...get to the park when it opens and go straight to the #1 attraction and get it done(no wait)....then go get your fast passes for the #2 attraction(there will still be plenty of fast passes for later)...This should have all taken only around 30-45 minutes so hopefully you won't be starving too bad....then stop and relax and have a "quick service" breakfast...then, the rest of your day will be at a better pace b/c you won't be worried about getting to do the top 2 attractions...plus you won't waste time at breakfast and you won't wait in any long lines...then you will have time for a good lunch and a great dinner

It IS amusing watching people get so worked up about Lester Earl's thoughts over their personal leisure travel choices.

This.

People come out of the woodwork thinking he's all serious

I love you. And LE.

Some of these food board people should know his personality by now. They're just bait to the pot-stirring time and time again.

If you don't get it, that's fine! You can have a discussion about it without being inconsiderate! I think that's why people got so worked up.

I feel like you've been around long enough to know when someone is being seriously rude vs. LE just being silly LE. I understand Mr. 300-post Oates not getting it or some of the other randoms who popped up out of nowhere in this thread, but you've been around here a while.

The Yachtsman has the best steak on Disney property but most people don't even know the restaurant exists.

I can't disagree with this more than is possible. There's a reason most people don't know that it exists. The steaks are awful. And vastly over-priced as far as quality. Shula's in the Dolphin is much better and not far away. Just my opinion and not a flame at Oakes.

I'm not sure why my name keeps getting brought up while you guys are discussing this since I've made it clear that I'm not mad nor am I upset about anyone elses opinion. In fact it looks like you care more about it than most people in this thread by constantly bringing it up.

And I didn't pop in this thread, I've been here since the first page. You popped into this thread to share your confusion about why people choose Disney for honeymoons (not even on topic). The people that question Disney fans in this thread seem to care more about why people like Disney rather than me being "butthurt" about people not liking it. It doesn't bother me at all if people don't like it, I came to this thread to help Lsurussian.

I've been reading reviews for the past hour and it looks like the drop off point was around December. I've been there 3 times and never had a bad experience. I wonder if there was a management change or something because December seems to be a point where they are getting a lot of complaints.

And you have!

It amazes me you've been to DW only one time. You must have really studied the restaurants or perhaps you had a really long stay there, maybe one of their 10 day packages, or you were there recently so it's all fresh on your mind.

This will be the sixth or seventh time I've taken my daughters there.

Once we did the parks for three days and then motored over to Cape Canaveral for a four day Disney cruise down to the island Disney owns at the northwest end of the Bahamas. That was great, too!

Each night the Disney performers would do a mini-Broadway show of one of the Disney movies, i.e., Lion King, Little Mermaid, Buzz Light Year, etc. Really, really entertaining!

One time? Not even close.

We've gone with groups of friends, family, taken my nieces and nephews, etc. I've been there more times than I can count but I also understand that some people dont like it (a fact that has escaped some people in this thread). I love food and cooking is a hobby of mine so critiquing these restaurants is fun for me. I've also planned around 10 of these trips for family and friends as well which is why I always offer to help. This thread caught my eye and here we are.

I misunderstood what you meant when I read: "I've only been there one time."
As they say in football, upon further review, you were referencing only going to one specific restaurant one time, not Disney World.

Guess I'd better slow down my reading a bit.

I'm only going to be at DW for 4 days. I can't spend all four days eating!

But thanks for the tip. If we have time, we might check it out.

Two places nobody mentioned that are really good are Jiko in the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Artist Point in Wilderness Lodge. I also second Yachtsman being the best steakhouse and Victoria and Albert's being the best overall dinner. If going over spring break, you can have all of my reservations. I just cancelled my trip.

Thanks anyway but I've already got my reservations. And I'm avoiding Spring Break like the plague. We're going in between the Mardi Gras days and Spring Break. It's listed as a "slow" period on the Disney website. But one day we're there is February 29 (Leap Day) and the Magic Kingdom is open 24 hours for that!
