Some Indian food I had when I was in Munich 8 years ago. Don't know the name. Just know it was a block from my hostel. Still consider it in my top 5 meals ever.

But getting back to the OP, I would say Il Tres Pini just outside Florence. Homemade sausages, local beef and mutton. The tomatoes used on the bruschetta were picked the day we arrived. The fragolino was made onsite as well. Incredible stuff.

Like I said it's been 8 years. All I remember is that we got off at the central trim station and walked left down that road about a 1/2 a mile. The restaurant was a block or so past that. Seriously 2 of the best meals I've ever had. Will try to look it up for u

Meh. It was a big fricking beer. Besides, you don't go on vacation to a foreign country and quibble about the price of beer--especially at a tourist joint like Hofbrauhaus.

It was worth every penny.
