Nope, not that place. This was a little corner shop right on Vets.

Yep. It faces Bonnabel. I think it is still around, but maybe more of a sit down place than a po-boy joint.

There used to be a drive-in king cake shack (best possible term for it, it was like 15x15) there when I was like 5.

About the bread, you may be talking about St. Joseph's Bread, which is still sold by Dorignac's. Have a friend who brings 3 loaves of St. Joseph's bread and a few sticks of butter to Saints game as his tailgate offering. Good stuff.

I just ate lunch and now I'm hungry again.

I'm a huge Parkway fan. When I have friends in from out of town it's one of the only places that I have to bring them. It's hard to beat a sunny afternoon on the patio on the bayou eating a surf and turf and washing it down with a bottled Barqs.

Parkway is where I send out of towners. Often times I am in the mood for another place, but Parkway is consistently fantastic, so I trust it more than anywhere else.

The only other place I send more people to is Central Grocery for a muff. Which, in my opinion, is the best sandwich on planet earth by a factor of eleventy-billion.

Because he asked for "BEST", not "mediocre at BEST".

Not a true po-boy shack, but Liuzza's midcity has a great seafood and a great roast beef po-boy.

Best overall, in my opinion, is Parkway.

Roast Beef - Parkway, Gennaro's, Joe Sepie's, Radosta's
Shrimp - Domilise's, Parkway, Crabby Jack's
Oyster - Domilise's (not in Nola, but I had the best oyster po' boy at Bear's)
Specialty - Crabby Jack's, Mahoney's, Guy's
