If atmosphere is important, Dominica at the Roosevelt hotel is adequate. There is likely better pizza out there with less effort on the experience. I remember a Russian/Ukrainian place in the CBD that had excellent pizza. I just can't remember exactly where. Could have been alcohol related.

Kids?
Pizza Domenica for nice atmosphere (wine/cocktails)
MidCity pizza (Banks Street) for neighborhood atmosphere
Pizza Delicious for hipster atmosphere (check to see if they are seating yet)
NOLA Pizza for brewery atmosphere
Paulee Gee's for a strip mall atmosphere
ETA:
Venezia, old school Italian diner vibe
Slice, small place, haven't been in forever, was a decent pizza though.

Pizza Domenica nor Domenica CBD offer by the slice, but some their pizzas are smaller for kids. They have better non-pizza too for adults.
MidCity has selective hours for by the slice options.
The other all have by the slice prices so you don't have to get everyone to agree on one pizza.
If you want to walk off the pizza there is Crescent Park just across the rusty rainbow bridge by Pizza Delicious.

Mo's on the Westbank. They have arcade games for the kids.

Tropical Isle in the quarter.
Can get the kids a slice and a hand grenade.
Jk, obviously.
