Best place to buy mint in BR
Posted by Tigers13

Of all places, Target used to sell big bushels of fresh mint but they no longer do. Only thing I can find now are the less than fresh pieces that they sell in the plastic containers. Appreciate any help or suggestions (also, in b4 grow your own)-Thx

I'd follow Ron's advice if you need it soon but if you stick a seedling in a pot today, you'll have all you need in 3 weeks

This is the way. An often overlooked place to buy produce, but Asian markets usually have pretty good produce (and herbs) at much, much cheaper prices. They usually have giant bags full of mint, basil, etc. for pennies. You can get ginger at these places for about 1/3 of what you'd pay at a regular grocery store.

This. A big bunch for dirt cheap rather than those small plastic $3 sleeves at grocery stores.

Southside Produce on Perkins sells it by the pound wholesale. I’m sure they will sell it retail, if you ask. Maybe call and ask.
Restaurant Depot also sells it by the pound. Have to have an account, but it’s not the most difficult one to get and it’s free. Can probably create an account online and fib that you’re a part of a restaurant. They won’t care.
A pound at both places will run you $12-15 these days. A pound is a lot of mint.

Just buy a live plant! You know it is fresh and you have the possibility of growing your next batch. It probably costs the same as buying it cut even if you don't want to grow it.
I do like that Asian market on the corner of Florida and Sherwood for spices but I never looked for mint there.
