Gotta head out that way one day...Eat pho at the Bang then go over to Dong Phuong and get a couple of Banh Mi for later and some french loafs. There are tons of markets over that way and you may even stumble on a farmers market.

I find Kim Anh's pho to be borderline awful---it tastes like a packaged mix to me, nothing but salt & MSG. No subtle spices, no star anise, roasted ginger, or cinnamon. Meh all the way. If I worked across the street, I'd eat it for lunch, but I'm certainly not driving out of my way to get it.

Pho Bang on the Westbank is pretty good, as is the Metairie one. Pho Sunrise in Kenna...

My two faves are Pho Tau Bay and Pho Danh 7, the pho shop inside Hong Kong Market, with the pho at the Dong Phuong restaurant ranking third because of the generous herb plate.

The problem with the places in the east is I don't get out that way often and when I do it's almost impossible to not go to Dong Phoung. I'm normally on my way back from fishing when I hit up the east.

Didn't care for the place in front of Hong Kong market. Pho Sunrise in kennahbrah would make my top 10. Another good early morning option.

I'm not the biggest Pho fan either, but Tan Dinh is at a different level.

Kim Ahn's is my go to b/c of proximity. I rarely get the Pho but for the entire meal, you can't beat Tan Dinh. It's the fresh, and they draw the most flavor out of the ingredients.

If you have experienced Tan Dinh, you will know the menu must be changed/consolidated. It's like 6 pages, with roughly 150 items. I had nightmares after my first time. They would be well advised to find a way to simplify it.

Not familiar with Frosty's, where is that?

I've only eaten at the one in the East, but would you think all of the locations are equal?

They are not. I would rank the Pho Bangs:

Nola East
West Bank
Metairie

I like Nine Roses, but I don't think of it as a pho shop. It doesn't open until 10:30 am, and most of my pho eating is at breakfast!

Nine Roses does have plenty of interesting things on the menu, including a delicious vinaigrette fondue. You dunk raw beef slices into a bubbling tangy broth and wrap in rice paper w/herbs. Can't remember the viet name of the dish.

There are now 2 on the Westbank. By the expressway and on Manhattan close to Lapalco. I've only eaten at the newer one. I enjoyed it.

Lilly's is the best pho I've had so far in New Orleans. Love Kim Ahn also. Magasin is the most overrated pho in the city IMHO. I have also had good experiences at Pho Orchid in Metairie. Can't wait for Pho Tau Bay to come to Maple Street.

Tan Dihn is heading to Maple. I heard it will open the end of March.

I have only had 2 and 4 on your list plus Jazmine (meh) and Pho Orchid in Metaire (pretty good). I would agree that Lily's is the best of those four. The Spicy Shrimp Pho is the tits.

I will have a very hard time staying away from that place.

one of the best here in DC at Pho 75

have you tried Pho Tay Ho on Leesburg Pike? The broth is more bold and rich in flavor than Pho 75.

Yeah my Top 5 has changed a little over the last year. I've tried to like MoPho but just don't dig the pho there. Pho Hoa has gotten many chances from me since they open at 7 am but I just don't care for it. How is eat well ? That's on Broad ?

I pretty much only eat pho at Lillys, Tan Dinh, Frosty, and Ahn's
