I call bull shite. Either that or all of your friends are sky smelling snobs. While I don't drink Crown, I think you are being completely disingenuous with your ridiculous statement

It ain’t snobbery. Sure, I like good whiskey, but I’d drink $8 bottles of Evan Williams over Crown any day.

I would as well, but it doesn't validate your first post.

You seem like a DBAG.

Vodka - Titos
Gin - Hendricks
Bourbon - Woodford, Buffalo Trace, Elijah Craig, Henry McKenna, Maker's Mark (tons of great options under 80 but I'd go with a well known one if I was stocking a bar)
Rum - Mount Gay
Scotch - One of the johnny Walker's
Tequila - Tres
Others - Kahlua, Tuaca, Grand Marnier, Bailey's, Chambord liquer, Rum Chata, fire ball

If I was stocking a bar I'd go with well known liquors

Regular 12 yr. should be around $65. The cask strength (the best liquor I know and have had Pappys) is around $85.

but there is nothing wrong with Crown.

there is if you don't like it

I personally don't have a problem with it for mixing, but I'm mainly a sipper these days so I typically don't have any at my house.

$80 per bottle will get you some damn good bottles for each of those categories.

I've even seen Redbreast 15 for around $80 in a couple of places, but typically it's closer to 90. I haven't had the cask strength, but the 12 and 15 yrs are both really good as is the Lustau (sp?) edition.

I'm just dipping my toes into Scotch, so I will give this one a go. So far I have the standard Macellan 15 and Glenmorangie port aged (I've been buying this one for years, which is the only Scotch I've ever really had).

I just recently bought an Oban 18 for a buddy, and I think this was one of the best I have ever drank of any spirit. He's a scotch guy and is getting me into it. It was $130 though, so not for OP to be buying.

Redbreast may be my next purchase

For $80 I’m going with 3 handles of Evan Williams black label and some Coke Zeros. Low carbing it, baw.

Have tried most relevant gins and I absolutely love and go to Beefeater when available. Am I alone here?

Looks like most people really didn't read what the OP asked.
He asked you to pick what you would buy is you could spend $80 PER bottle, not total for your bar.

Tito's
Mount Gay XO
Blantons
Rum Chatta !
Macallan 12
Tanqueray No. Ten

Scotch - Balvenie 12 yr Doublewood
The Balvenie 14 Yr Caribbean Cask is different but I like it.

Lots of options for under $80. Honestly you don't need to spend a lot of money on any of this. For bourbon just grab a bottle of Weller and be done.

Both great choices but I prefer the different 12 yr cask from Glenmorangie

I'm guessing most will say Crown for other.

When LSU played in Green Bay, all the liquor stores were running out of Crown. I was talking to one of the owners of a place near the stadium and they were so confused. I've been around here long enough to know that's your thing but they didn't see it coming.
