Was very underwhelmed with their Lomo Saltado, but their ceviche was phenomenal

Speaking of critiques, the ceviche was the worst thing I’ve had thus far at The Patio. Tiny shrimp you would find in fried rice and fish flaked so small that it was basically nonexistent. The dish was 90% vegetables. I’ve enjoyed everything else I’ve had there, but that was extremely disappointing.

On the flip side, the Aguachile Ceviche at Modesto is one of the best I've ever had. Flavors go so well together.

Where have you seen that Spoke & Hub is closing? I haven't heard that anywhere.

I could never really figure out what Spoke and Hub wanted to be, and I don't think they really knew either.

Looking at the menu now, and it looks like they've changed it up to be a bit more cohesive than it was last I had it. Now it appears to be diner-esq with simple southern plates, breakfast, and greasy spoon type sandwiches. Last time I had it, they had items like pappardelle with crawfish and corn, which felt a bit out of place amongst breakfast and sandwiches.

Either way, all of the times I've been, our servers were clearly new to the service industry and it was very clunky the whole way through. Obviously not their fault - you can't help who applies and you need employees - but definitely makes you not want to return for another awkward meal.

Yeah, S&H wasn't quite as bad for me as SoLou (like we've discussed before), but the service has definitely always felt a bit off. Not rude or unpleasant, just... off.

Went to the patio this evening bc of this thread.

1) you can’t hear shite in there. It’s LOUD and it wasn’t even packed. You can’t hear people 2 down from you at your table.
2) it’s one or two steps up from casa lavida type food
3) margs are 14/small and 18/large. Yikes.

Table of 8. We all got different stuff. Nothing was wow. (All good)

I was expecting more. It’s ok for a Tex mex place.

All I know is this: Tallulah, located inside the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel, is no longer Baton Rouge's best kept secret. In fact, Tallulah is not just a restaurant in a hotel, it's a unique go-to dining experience serving crafted food and wine in the heart of Baton Rouge. Perfect for a night on the town or a special event with your loved one.

I am not a paid spokesmoscona.
