My wife and I are looking to celebrate our 3rd anniversary by going on a trip centered around a Michelin 3 star experience.

Can anyone offer a little guidance based on your experiences

11 Madison Park (New York and currently #4 in the world)
The French Laundry (Napa Valley)
Per Se (New York)
Blue Hill at Stone Barns (Tarrytown, NY and current #12 in the world)
Cosme (New York and current #25 in the world)

My wife and I are going to The Inn at Little Washington (Virginia) for our second anniversary next weekend. It's the most recent restaurant in the US to get 3 Stars. I'll report back.

Also, if you're not limiting yourself to the US, I can give recommendations for Osteria Francescana (Modena, Italy and current #1 in the world) and Piazza Duomo (Alba, Italy and current #16 in the world)

11 Madison is the best restaurant in the US, not really a question. In NYC. It was #1 in the world a year or two ago.

After that Alinea in Chicago
Le Bernadin in NYC
French Laundry

There are only 15 3 mich star in the US.

A fine trip would be going to Napa for a few days and enjoying wine country, while also popping into a few of their Michelin restaurants with TFL being the grand finale

As a side note, I wish I could have the money back spent at Michelin restaurants. The fine dining places aren’t worth it imo.

Kind of agree with you Gyno. I’ve had better meals at places that didn’t have Michelin stars (some by choice).

I went to one in Chicago for work. It was good but not worth the fuss. It was 74 small courses. I’d prefer a nice steak restaurant.

The only 3 Michelin Star restaurant in Chicago is Alinea, and they do somewhere between 16-18 courses. The most they do is 30.

So I call bullshite.

Y’all are so literal. That was it. After about 10 courses I lost count. There was also a wine pairing so I think I was pretty fricked up after the 7th appetizer. It was an experience but not my cup of tea.

I have that same feeling whenever I eat at almost any fine restaurant. I can’t help but think of how I would rather have spent that money on some really good steaks and shrimp at home with a couple of good bottles of wine.

So you displayed zero self control, got drunk, and stuffed your face with food you could no longer appreciate. Bold strategy
