There was a mac & cheese fest at Perkins Rowe a few years ago with about fifteen restaurants (including some gourmet ones) competing for best m&c. The Big Cheezy won in a landslide. We were among the ones voting for them. Forgive the FB link; they don't have a website:

My daughter loves the mac and cheese at Mr Gatti’s

Having time to do some research before the birthday event, my wife and I went on a mac and cheese crawl to four of the earlier recommendations: Hannah's Q, Our Mom's, The Big Cheezy, and Gatti's. We brought home samples and let my granddaughter judge them.
The results were:
1. Gatti's
2. Our Mom's
3. Hannah's Q
4. The Big Cheezy
This surprised my wife and I as we thought she'd pick Our Mom's since it is the most like Kraft, even a deeper yellow color like Kraft than the others.
Not surprisingly, she did not like The Big Cheezy at all, as my wife and I didn't care for it either. The sample we had few noodles, almost 50-50 ratio to the Bechamel sauce, and the seasoning was not that enticing.
My wife and I both preferred Hannah's because it served a smoke gouda cheese that actually had smokey flavor. We ranked Our Mom's second, Gatti's, and The Big Cheezy fourth.
The crawl was kind of fun and we may check out a few more places. Thanks again for the input.

For the win!
The Denham location is much better, btw.

Stouffer's is a good brand.

Big Cheezy has gone downhill. They were much better when they were just a food truck in Tigerland.

I’m disappointed in Gattis. I’ve liked it since it was a stand alone real pizza place years ago. Something has changed though and the last 2 times I went the pizza nor crust was good. Everything changed. It’s a shame too bc I liked to stop by when passing through Denham. Maybe it’s been bought out by a PE firm, it’s so bad.

I could not disagree more. The Essen Ln location still has the same pizza as always. No difference.

Good to know, thanks. The Denham location is where I go to grab one visiting my mom. I’ll hit up Essen to try. Idk why but I’ve always liked Gattis.

Fancy wise (meaning different types of cheeses and traditional pasta), it's J Alexanders.
But that might be too much and too soon for a 7 year old.

The only difference is that the building is much nicer now after the remodel. Employees are always smiling and in a good mood.
