Mine was in Hollywood, CA. I can't remember the name, but there was a Creole restaurant started by a Louisiana ex-pat that had some of the best red beans and rice I'd ever tasted.

@ that pic.

The mtn dew umbrellas, street light attached to the building, random cat, dead shrubbery, manager's office/trailer attachment. The list of awesome just goes on and on.

Heaven on Seven, 7th floor of the Garland Building on Wabash in downtown Chicago.

Fun place and pretty good food.

Cajuns warf Little Rock, gumbo is pretty darn good And not cajun but their broiled oysters Were as good as any I've had in New Orleans. Been there for long time and I thought was a tourist trap but now I recommend it.

Crawfish etouffee, Red beans and rice with sausage and French fries? What a frickn combo.

Switch the fries out with crunchless potato salad and now you got something!

I wouldn't ever eat red beans with étouffée. That's a one way ticket straight to the porcelain. Those are pics off of Yelp.

You can't be serious...I went to the one in Fort Worth and it was nothing close to authentic. The place sucked.

I vote Evangeline Cafe in Austin. Owner if from Lake Charles and has some great food. Going in the place feels like home.

Some of the best gumbo I've had comes from this place.

I've been to Heaven on Seven several times and find the slightly above average...my Chicago friends love it, but they don't know the real thing. However, it can be a fun place.

Louisiana Lagniappe in Destin. I think it was there before the one in Baton Rouge opened.

There used to be a great catfish place in Anchorage. The owner was from Natchitoches. Don't know the name or if it's still there. I guess they got the catfish flown in, which is hilarious considering how much local fish was right on their doorstep.

Bro does a good job in Nashville. He was on DDD....I stopped in while working in Nashville, and it was good enough i went back on a return trip. Only place I would ever suggest outside of Louisiana for Acadiana-Ish food.

Last time I checked, Destin is still located in the Gulf South.
