We plan on making a trip to Lafayette the end of April. What restaurants do we need to hit. We will be there Friday thru Sunday morning. Casual, breakfast/brunch, lunch, dinner…Best place for crawfish and best place for drinks are a plus. They don’t have to be in Lafayette proper just in the area. Thanks

Solid list
I’ll include a few more options for the OP: Friday afternoon plate lunch at Poches located in Poche Bridge/Breaux Bridge (I-10 exit 109 Hwy 328 north).
Dinner: Pamplona (downtown Jefferson St.) Mazen’s Grill has excellent fish dishese (on Johnson street near Acadiana Mall) Cafe Josephine (Sunset), and Poseidon which is casual dress / laid back dining twith solid Greek/Lebanese dishes.
Crawfish: Richard’s in Abbeville, Hawks in BFE (Rayne) … crawfish are purged for 48 hours in large fresh water purging tanks, Dwight’s (Johnson street) , Louisiana Crawfish Time (Kaliste Saloom rd)
Sweet-tooth dessert places: Bordens Ice cream shop on Johnson Street /Jefferson Street near downtown …. Last remaining ice cream shoppe in the US., Pouparts bakery which offer lots of French pastries, cheesecake , cookies, and desserts

I pickup crawfish and shrimp at Cest Bon in Youngsville last night and was very satisfied with the size of both. Wife and I got 5# crawfish and 1# shrimp and had trouble eating it all.
Shrimp are split on top and deveined making it nice and easy to peel the rest of the way although not seasoned very much.
For breakfast/brunch try KK'S in Youngsville.
For poboys its Olde Tyme Grocery, just don't go there between noon and 1 on weekdays.
Another favorite seafood place is Dupuy's in Abbeville, oyster poboys are the best I have had. Many will suggest Shucks right down the road but Duprey's has better food and atmosphere.

This is the spot if you like female armpit hair in your food.

I could not imagine living in a city where po boy shops, plate lunch places and crawfish shacks are mentioned on a best restaurant thread.

Did you miss where he asked for casual restaurants?

Pretty much co-sign everything listed so far. Wanted to add Spoonbill, which has an interesting and varied menu with a nice outdoor eating space.
If you do want a nice dinner, Vestal is the best restaurant in the city, IMO.

Same folks that own/run the C’est Bon in Mermentau? I miss that place.

if you want a nice dinner and want to get out of lafayette cafe josephine is great. IMO vestal is the best restaurant around. but either place you are gonna spend 200+ easily for a couple.

I would consider Five Mile Eatery in the Oil Center over Scratch.

I wouldn’t miss making a stop there. Probably my favorite place in the general area.
