That’s depressing

Morning kolaches and kolache shopee are the best I’ve had in Houston

Southern Maid shops have some decent ones. Not the best in the Houston area but pretty good for not leaving Katy.

Sausage and Gravy kolaches from Kolache Factory are really good. Beware of any of their varieties that include egg....the egg they use is disappointing.

I saw a mention of Buc-ees. I'll have to try those this weekend. That's just a few minutes from me.

Also agree with the Shipley's comment. Excellent meat/bread ratio.

there are none. Drive West to Prasek's or Kountry Bakery.

For kolaches??

Can't beat a fresh Shipley's glazed do nut though. Krispy Kreme got nothing on shipley's.

Screw your downvoter. This is true.

Yeah I don’t like Shipley’s for kolaches at all. The bread is like a hot dog bun to me.

Shipley's

Wasn't a huge fan of their kolaches when I lived in Katy.

However... Old Metry is getting a Shipley's, and I cannot wait to get a kolache from there. Funny how lack of any better options will cause you to want one.

To the OP, I always thought bacon and cheese from Kolache Factory was pretty legit.

My favorite Kolaches in the Houston area are at the Black Walnut restaurants. I know they have several locations although not sure about Katy.

I usually go with two of the bacon kolaches and one sausage (which is slightly spicy). They take about 10-15 minutes to make but are worth it.

Went to a Shipley's for convenience sake. Jalapeno Sausage was solid. Certainly nothing to throw on the floor.

Shipleys is a fricking wiener sausage in a bun. And that's not a kolache, it's a Klobásník. And a piss poor version of that.

Went to Buc-ee's for kolaches, ended up leaving with what they call a Rhino Taco.

Eggs, cheese, sausage, green chilies, retried beans, and pieces of tater tots.

Very good. I'll try the kolaches next time.

It was still good. Had jalapenos too.

I'm not driving all the way to Prasek's smokehouse. It's good but nothing great.
