I was thinking about doing some jerk ribeyes soon

Really don't care for using a marinade on steaks

TIA

The Bobby Flay jerk ribeye recipe is very good...but it’s a marinade.

It's a paste, but Walkerswood is excellent. Not sure where you live but you can find it at World Market (if they're open) or online.

Jerk is for Chicken that doesn't have flavor. The Ribeye is meant to be savored with salt, pepper, and butter.

Well luckily you can still feel free to eat your ribeye the exact same way every time.

If you are spending good money on some nice Ribeyes, why would you ruin them by doing this? You would be better served waiting until you have something like Tri- Tip, flank, skirt, or flat iron steak.

Good quality steaks like Ribeye, NY Strip, Filet Mingon only need salt, pepper and maybe a little garlic powered and that's a rap! You don't want anything to over power the taste of the meat.

Uh oh, here comes the "you can only eat steaks one way ever" crowd.

I would say that a jerk paste would give you much more flavor, but I can see why you wouldn't want that extra moisture on the steak. I don't think you'll easily find a "traditional" jerk dry rub, so you are probably just stuck with whatever is at your grocery store

Dizzy Pig - Jamaican Firewalk

I use this probably once a week. Mostly on chicken, ribs, veggies, and pork chops. It's not as spicy as you would think with the name but it has some heat and very good.

*I'd probably use the walkerswood paste on your steaks if you can get it

I like Walkerswood as well, and use it a good bit. I just get it at the local Walmart, so it's probably readily available in lots of stores.

Malcom Reed makes an awesome Jerk sauce he uses on chicken wings. Could slather it on there I reckon.

I'm right there with you for the strip and the ribeye, but to me the filet doesn't have much flavor. If I'm cooking a filet I like to make a pan sauce, or season the shite out of it
