Good quality steaks like Ribeye, NY Strip, Filet Mingon only need salt, pepper and maybe a little garlic powered and that's a rap! You don't want anything to over power the taste of the meat.

I like how people post this like they think they are teaching the board something

Not hating on it, but can’t say I’ve ever heard of someone making jerk steak

I’ve done it a couple times with cheaper ribeyes. It’s pretty delicious if you like those flavors.

They have some good rubs that you won't find on the shelf else where. Also Academy started carrying Meat Church so I've been hitting that up too.

WalkersWood is good but so is Badia for a dry seasoning. If you don't have time to marinate just heavily season with this it's really good.

Walkers wood is really really good. But damn it’s spicy. Even the mild is pretty damn hot.

Good suggestion, but that was a tease. The closest store that carries this is 80 miles away from me, and starting at $11 per shaker online, I can only imagine shipping bringing the total up to about $20, so sadly I'm going to pass. Would have loved to try it.

I've made this Jerk dry rub mix for a few different proteins and thought it was pretty solid ratios

Jerk Dry Rub mix (makes about 1/2 cup total)

2 tsp salt (I usually omit and salt independently, but if you want it "pre-salted" I think this is a good starting point)
1 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
2 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp smoked paprika (I usually use bourbon smoked because why not)

1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cumin ground
1 tsp allspice ground
1/2 tsp nutmeg ground
1/2 tsp cinnamon ground
1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp thyme dried
1 tbsp parsley dried

If you give it a go, let me know what you think!
