Is the Jambalaya Shoppe on Gov't still open?
My favorite BR hidden gem was the Catfish Acadienne lunch special at the Caterie (RIP)

Yes, but only for lunch and their hours are weird some times. The one on Perkins is open all day.

Rams for best Thai food, or Asian in general.
Duvics has great burgers, and the best brunch in town.

I've been to Jazz Daddy a few times, yes owner friendly, but the food is no bargain. The bread is mushy and the fillings are minimum.

As far as fitting definition, Anthonys Italian Deli is pretty good food for the places size.

Good suggestions thus far in the thread. I'll add Curry N' Kebob on Coursey and Rotogrill King Kebob on O'neal for Indian and Greek/Lebanese.

He has never been anything but nice to me. He clearly isn't as much of a dick as some would like to have you believe. He wouldn't have been in business as long as he has if he were that much of a dick.
And the meatball & eggplant poboy is delicious.

I'm no Indian food expert but this is my favorite Indian restaurant in Baton Rouge. I find the food to be fantastic and the staff is incredibly nice.
