I'm tired of lifting the basket from my pot and getting steamed. I'm considering a custom boiler that dumps them straight into an ice chest. Would anyone like to make a recommendation? Thanks.

I'm not fond of steam burns or anything either but don't recall having this problem.

I had several that were ok, each had a few features I didn't like. I then found Venable Fabricators, expensive but what a great boiler. I bought mine about 3-4 years ago. At that time they made a limited amount each year, about 25 if I remember, after crawfish season.

People who call and want one are put on a waiting list. I was about no. 30 on the list but apparently at least 5 ahead of me changed their mind. If you don't get one the first year you will be moved up the list for next year.

He’s lifting the pot too fast and standing over it.....People have been boiling crawfish out of 80 qt pots for years and years with no problems...Not sure the convenience of the new boilers is worth the cost

Very easy way to avoid this. Put crawfish paddle under basket handle. 2 people lift each end of paddle to get basket out of the pot.

Dude just burp the lid, take lid off, wait about 4.8 seconds and take the basket out.

Don't use a wood paddle. You'll have 3rd degree burns when/if it breaks.
