my opinion.... kraft singles. Grew up with a mom who couldn't boil water... but she could take frozen broccoli and microwave it then add a few kraft singles. It was fantastic.

I tried it again last week with fresh broccoli. really hit home.

I make this dish Carla from Bon Appetit came up with called Broccoli Delight, and I use sharp white cheddar. Great stuff, especially when you're heavy handed on the red pepper flakes.

This is the recipe I use. I know you already made it, but this has sharp cheddar and gouda and it is absolutely delicious!
