Best carrot cake in NOLA?

Who makes the best carrot cake in New Orleans? I have never been able to find one I like as much as my mom's. Laurel St. Bakery used to make one but they stopped.

I've seen them at LaBoulangerie but not sure if its an all the time thing. I just gained 4 pounds typing out LaBoulangerie, its that good.

The chef's daughter is trained pastry chef and puts out killer desserts. Im not huge on CC but it's great and some enthusiasts I know say it's the best ever.

I normally don't like chains but I love the carrot cake cheesecake at the Cheesecake Bistro at Lakeside.

So I tried Happy Italian's carrot cake shortly after my OP and it was delicious. Then a friend of mine got it for me for my bday last week and it wasn't the same. Do you recall if their carrot cake has/had pineapple in it?

ive never had one with pineapple. Havent had it in awhile though

That's what I thought when I had it in the restaurant. But the one I got for my bday had pineapple in it and tasted nothing like the one I had at restaurant (that I remember). I sent them an e-mail about it and they never responded. I called them about it and asked if they had pineapple in it and the woman who answered the phone said "yes it has pineapple in it" and hung up on me before I could respond.

I live nearby the Happy Italian in Harahan. It's a good restaurant with good food. Never had a bad meal there. I have to try the carrot cake.
