Can't go wrong with one of these:

Cowbell
La Petite Grocery
Hi Hat
Company Burger
Toups

I like Phil's too. Not the best, but very good.

Chains can't be good on here though, even if local. And even if its good.

Sorry I've just never thought Phil's was good. And I know Phil. It's just...ok.

And how could I forget Toups and Cowbell?? Definitely two of the best.

A genuinely new person wouldn't use some of the words you use IMO

Sirloin burger is pretty good. Put High Hat above it.

IDK if this is seious or not but me and the wife and kids ate here after visiting Fulton Street last year. My son got a burger and I thought it was damn good. They may have messed up and got it right that day.

I like Bouligny's burger a lot as well. I seem to remember getting blasted on here last time I mentioned it though.

Also baie rouge is closing in fast. Check out their brunch menu burger. Had it this weekend and was fantastic. Place is pretty underrated IMO. Not usually a big crowd.
