Peel & Eat Shrimp - Imported or domestic?
Posted by ChrisN on 7/26/25 at 12:34 pm
We ate at OSO in Orange Beach was supposedly a “locals” restaurant tucked away into a harbor neighborhood.
On the appetizer menu they had peel and eat shrimp and the description said tossed in a viet Cajun butter.
I asked the waiter if it was fresh shrimp or imported. Typically the peel and eat shrimp “pre cracked” have always been imported.
The description of them gave the idea of imported shrimp. But waiter claimed they were fresh.
After talking to a friend who owns a seafood restaurant, he stated the only way you can have fresh pre split shrimp is if someone is sitting in the back pre cracking them by hand.
I thought it was disappointing that a gulf restaurant would serve imported shrimp.

History Museum of Natural Science is a blast & kids museum is a great time too.
We go to a few Astros games a year. We stay at the hotel downtown across the street from the stadium. The downtown area around the hotel & stadium is a great place to walk around too.

Travel Setup Ideas for Large Family in Ford Expedition — Roof & Hitch Rack Solutions?
Posted by ChrisN on 7/26/25 at 11:55 am
We’re planning some road trips with our large family (5+ kids), and I’m looking for creative, efficient ways to maximize cargo space in our Ford Expedition—without jumping straight to an enclosed trailer.
Roof rack ideas. Good trailer hitch mounts.
Pictures would be great for ideas.
