Best bourbons under $50

Blantons,

does not compute. I haven't seen a bottle of Blantons at or under $50 in years (well at least since the bourbon craze started). We talking about the same Blantons?

To the OP, Eagle Rare, Ridgemont Reserve 1792, and BT are my picks for the price point.

Apparently you can get it online for $49.99.

I'd go with Eagle Rare, Basil Hayden's, or Blanton's (if you can find it for $50).

I'm a big fan of EH Taylor and Woodford Reserve but picked up bottle of Basil Hayden's for the 1st time the other day and really enjoying it. Will definitely be getting additional bottles.

IIRC I bought a bottle a month or so ago at a grocery store for 49.99+ tax

This is an impossible question to answer.

Kinda like. What is the best beer for under $5/bottle? The choices are endless, the opinions are varied, and it depends on your taste buds anyway.

Speaking of Blantons, has anyone collected all 8 tops to spell out Blantons?

bulleit 10

What has happened to the price on Bulleit lately? I used to be able to get a bottle for $30. Even less at some places. I was at a local store last weekend and it was $49 for the normal Bulleit. And a 750mL, not the 1L. It used to be my go to budget bourbon. I've been buying Old Forester instead. Is it a store by store thing? I know the ABC State stores in Alabama are sometimes the cheapest option, but there is usually better selection at the private stores. The exception being the new one by the Galleria in Hoover that is marketing itself as an upscale Liquor Store. The selection and prices there are great, but I didn't think to check Bulleit prices because last time I was there I was just getting Vodka and a bottle of Makers.

I have heard if you get all of them and send them in they will make you something to put over your fire place. Any truth to that?

That's what I was used to. Around $25-28 normally. I was shocked at the price. I need to hit a few stores and note prices on things. Like I said, State store is usually the cheapest on most things, but deals can be found at other places, and there are 3 closer to the house than the state store.

I'm not sure, I'll look into it, though.

Woodford (depending on where you are, here it's under $50)

Where in the U.S. would Woodford be over $50? That'd be insane. It's $28-$32 in Louisiana.

ETA:
Four Roses Single Barrel is my favorite sub-$50. Blanton's is great, but it's a few dollars over $50.

My usual go to bourbons in order are these:
Blanton's
Four Roses Single
Eagle Rare
Buffalo Trace
Old Charter

I'm not a connoisseur, by any stretch, but I do enjoy bourbon.
