The worst part about them closing is we don’t get to see y’all whine about how you were gonna boycott them
Oh yea, whining about boycotting businesses is something you will definitely be able to show me regularly doing.

You are so damn fragile you couldn’t even read the full passage, wtf are you talking about

Yep, something is definitely broken in your head. You should see someone about it.

It is a big loss for the city though.
No doubt. The city is losing many great businesses, and none of it should make anyone happy.
I don't like seeing (most) restaurants close, but the city is way too centered on a service industry/gig economy. Restaurants are just not sustainable business models for the most part. All these people move here from wherever, open up a restaurant in a city oversaturated with them, restaurant fails, and then they complain about "system" that keeps them down. Obviously Covid is an extreme circumstance but no one is forcing you to move here and open yet another trendy lower garden district restaurant.

I was never going to boycott Bellegarde? I love there bread.
I have been there many times.
I go to plenty plenty PLENTY of businesses who post shite I don't necessarily agree with all of the time.
Turkey and the Wolf posted on their instagram that "If you aren't down with BLM, maybe we aren't the restaurant for you." I'm still going to go eat there when I can.
There's a difference between that and what Adolfo Garcia is doing and has done, and all I've said is it "makes me uncomfortable". I'll probably still eventually eat at Ancora again.
Lester, learn how to parse words and how opinions can be nuanced.

interesting their politics, yet they employed no AA's.

Bunch no one cares about nuance when someone is sky screaming about cancelling someone or something. The absolute worst. Whiny posturing is a bad look in a public setting

Who is doing that? I'm certainly not.
I've never actively "cancelled" anyone in my life.
Posted on 7/17/20 at 10:29 am to Fun Bunch
That's why i called it posturing. Nothing worse than the dude that wants to cancel something and has to let everyone know.
i dont know how some of you deal with other people in real life that have different opinions than you. Or what happens when someone tells you no? do you just throw a fit? or is it just a message board thing?

What are you even talking about? This is your new shtick I know, but it is so far from reality.
When have I ever thrown a fit? Plenty of people have different opinions than me and I say nothing.
Adolfo Garcia has gone way above that. He is actively holding fundraisers for borderline domestic terrorist organizations and is ACTIVELY supporting them through his restaurants.
And I'll I've said to that was "I'm not sure if I want to eat there. It makes me uncomfortable".
Please explain to me how that is "Throwing a fit" or "cancelling someone".
It is a pretty milquetoast statement for discussion. But you know that, as I said, this is your new shtick.

Who is screaming to cancel anything here?

I read your sport's take too dude. This isnt a schtick talking. You are always saying some cringey emotional shite, especially in the moment.
Outside of this being a direct threat to cancel adolfo garica, the public posturing is so frickin cringey.

What did Ancora say?

Live only a few blocks from that place and will really miss it. Guy went from being nominated for a James Beard award to losing his business for reasons out of his control in a matter of months. I can’t imagine what that feels like. Maybe people should cut him some slack on his statement. Same for anyone losing a business and their livelihood because of this.

What did Ancora say?
Adolfo Garcia, the chef/owner of La Boca, Ancora and High Hat has been hosting fundraiser dinners at La Boca for Take Em Down Nola, a pretty vile organization in my opinion if you read their mission statements, and has been actively supporting ANTIFA, and using his restaurants to do so, essentially.
I haven't said we should cancel him or his restaurants. I've said it makes me uncomfortable and I'm not sure I want to support those places due to his ACTIVE support and use of his restaurants to do so.
That's it. Its really me thinking out loud about it.

Perfectly reasonable, no matter what basement dwelling Lester has to say.

And yes I am a hypocrite, because I will eventually go to Ancora again at some point, because I do really like it and more importantly, my wife likes it and doesn't give a shite about politics.
Like I said, my thoughts on Adolfo were really me thinking out loud about me being uncomfortable with what he is doing.
No one is cancelling anything.
