It will be interesting to see how many years Ghost sits at the top.

either someone will make a better beer, which would be awesome, or eventually Ghost will become too "common" and people will start hating on it

my bold prediction: Ghost will not be the #1 beer next year

Man, either you people don't appreciate a good barleywine, or this is some sort of hype push-back.

Tin roof -- list is shite

No its a solid list and glad to have some in my rotation, would like to have all
was surprised to see Neapolitan make top 10 being just released its really a great stout no doubt just hope the "mistake" beer turns into a least an annual release
thanks for the work

This.

Well, it's not that we don't appreciate them, it's that we don't want to/can't drink them all that often.

I mean, there's nothing quite like kicking back after a long day at the office with a 2 year old barleywine.

Well, we're voting on 'Best' beer, not the ones we drink the most often.

Or I'd have probably had to list Tin Roof in the first 6 or 7 spots.

Then I guess you're right. I don't appreciate barleywines. Just checked, and it's been 2 months since I drank one. And that was a small taste of barrel aged Grand Reserve. Before that was an Anchor Old Foghorn barleywine...on the brewery tour. Apparently the last barleywine I opened on my own and not shared in a group tasting was back in April.

It's definitely that people don't appreciate barleywine. They like hops or roast. Complex maltiness and balance in big beers seems to escape people.

I'm certainly in the "don't appreciate barleywines" camp. That's why I gave you most of my collection of them

Cool that Commotion is the only flagship beer to make the list!
