Get some less insecure friends bro. I give my expensive beer drinking friends shite for what they drink and they give me shite for what I drink, but it's all in good fun. There are people who genuinely get worked up because of what somebody else is drinking.
I've only met one beer snob in my life. He didn't strike me as a very intelligent dude.

I find it amusing when some dumb arse insists on drinking only one brand of the domestic mediocrity. They'll talk about "brand loyalty" which I can't believe. One said "I'm a Bud man" but I only heard "I'm a tool." I've brought beer to an event and had 2 different dumb asses on two separate occasions tell me "you can't put that shite (Ayinger) in my ice chest." The ice chests were full of Bud one time and Miller the other.
Beer Philistines are at least as annoying as beer snobs.
