Saint Arnold is putting out the 12th beer in the Barrel aged series known as Bishops Barrel. This one is the Christmas ale aged 21 month in sauvengon blanc barrels with cheeries and strands of brett.
Sounds festive.

one of the early BB's was something similar and it was awesome. Looking forward to this one.

I tried this straight from the barrel in August...August 2014. There were a few different Brett strands they were using. Don't know if the final product is a blend of those barrels or what.

Well shite, these BB are coming out so fast now I can even keep up. I haven't even picked up my 11 yet, doing that this weekend. Would have been nice to double up.
Hey buddy.

For real. I avoided 11 after I heard about it. This sounds interesting. Especially if it gets a little time.

did they completely abandon the "in restaurants and bars only" or are they still trying to keep up that idea?

my understanding is that it is a twist on BB2
to remind everyone, BB2 was rough around the edges when "fresh", but turned out quite nice after 6 months in the bottle

Bulldog Mid-City has 11, if you get down to NOLA soon.

It's aged a little longer and I don't think they used Brett in bb2

That sounds similar to BB2

No brett in the bottled version.
There was a brett version of BB2 available on tap at the brewery that was very good.

I hear it's gonna be like Bishops Barrel 2.

They did, but it was really a test batch that wasn't distributed to restaurants. I think a couple places got kegs of it for special events. Needless to say, they liked the brett version which led to this new BB12.
ETA: Apparently I need to read the rest of the thread before commenting

Has anyone pointed out yet that this sounds similar to the second beer that was released in this series?
