Typically a silent brewery only release thats gone in a matter of hours. Some are speculating it will be the first release to the El Catador Club members..

A CCB employee who posts on BA says this batch is the best brew they've ever made

Damn... that beer sounds awesome.

I'm pretty stoked about it, but have no assurance I'll end up with any. Very, very limited production.

I'm thinking so since Club members get first right of refusal and first crack at new barrel aged releases. But, this whole concept is new and continually evolving so I'm trying not to count my chickens before they hatch.

The further you drift from greater Tampa the distribution gets smaller and less diverse. CCB has really struggled to meet the demand particularly for Jai Alai. It sucks working only a few minutes from the brewery...

I don't even want to be. I try to keep about a dozen or two bottles in my fridge and buy as I drink 'em. I sometimes have a little inventory creep, and then I have some of the fellas over and we take care of the problem.

Westbrook is crazy good!

Perhaps tomorrow I'll take inventory. Hopefully I'm not too hungover so I can go look for some BBXXV and some w00t stout.

Drink maybe 1 beer every month or two. Keep Hiney Cans or Bass Ale mainly for the neighbor when he drops by.

Sometimes you'll only see it in cans... That can throw you off, because stores will stock it in a different location.

Hey Dean,

You say those hops aren't getting any younger, but I had some Hopslam last night that was probably 6 months old (even though I bought it last week - another story). It was also sitting on a shelf, not the cooler for a long period of time.

I drank them, fully expecting it to be flat and disappointing, but it was actually very good. The hop flavor was not as crisp as you might expect, but overall, I really enjoyed the aged Hopslam. It was a little less "hoppy", but nonetheless, still outstanding.

I think my point is that the experiment of drinking an aged IPA needs to be further investigated. Maybe not all IPA's age well...
