Less is definitely more. There is no need to marinate tuna in my opinion.
Cut a nice thick piece about 1 1/2 inches thick. Season well with salt and pepper. Sear each side for a minute or so.

What this guy said. You cook it any longer than that and you will ruin it. I like a little soy sauce and sarachi. Keep it simple.

I like to marinade mine in Italian dressing and then serve it with a side of ketchup. Oh never mind, I thought you said beef tenderloin.

Melt butter
Add minced ginger and garlic. Sauté 30 sec.
add soy and Siracha
Add orange juice
Simmer until sauce like consistency. Serve over seared tuna or as a dipping sauce.
