I think recall MD saying he doesn't share his rub recipe for so e dumb reason. But I maybe mistaken.

Your sauce is exactly the way I like it on chicken when I eat it. I like it cooked on, thickened with some caramelization. I like a thick sauce when its cooked that way.

OK Mom
We purchased this oil about twenty years back at an estate auction in Selma, ALabama. The wife is an artist and she wanted it, so it was her's when the hammer came down. We know the painting is old, oil on a linen canvas. The canvas reverse is very discolored and the frame shows a lot of age. The wife, who is the artist in the family (Oils, acrylic, watercolor) says maybe 1910 - 1920.
Good luck with the signature:
Here are several views. Sorry for the glare.
So, what do you think?
C. Manning?

What's in the rub?
Everyone has their own and this one is mine. It is good with pork and chicken.
Smoked Paprica
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Cayanne Pepper
Sugar
Some other stuff
A very very small amount of salt, which makes it more expensive to make, but allows me add it heavy without over salting the meat.
Your rub needs to be your's. I have worked on mine a long time. It is to the point where I make around 2-5 pounds, which keeps it more consistent. Stores just fine in a zip lock bag.
The spices I listed are a good start.

Absolutely, I know way too many people who never use them. I understand they're a little high on the fat content, but fvck it we're barbequeing not working out. You can't beat the flavor of chicken thighs, not possible.
