Saw they have live music on Saturdays and Sundays. Have 3 young kids (7, 2, and a newborn) and looking to get out of the house with them this weekend. Is it kid friendly? One day better than the other as far as things to do at the brewery? Heard the pizza was pretty good.

Yes. We went on a Saturday afternoon. It was packed though. All the shady seats were taken, but after about 15 minutes we snagged a table.

Yep. It's far and away the nicest setting of any brewery in the state. Wish their beer was better, but it's still a great place to spend an afternoon.

I’m a big fan of their Acadie Farmhouse Ale. It doesn’t taste anything like a farmhouse ale should, but what it is is a very balanced beer that’s not too dark, not too light, not too bitter, not too sweet, and while not super crushable, is also not too heavy:

Best brewery experience in the state, from the music, friendly people, food, beer, and games.

Love the venue! Beer is ehh at best. If they could come out with one good beer like a Jucifer or Reve or something it would likely be a regular place for me.

I actually sort of appreciate that the do their own thing beer style wise. It just sort of leads to hit or miss results, and their hits are usually just decently good. I've yet to find anything there exceptional.

I’m a huge fan of Big Fatty and Techeticles. Big Fatty might be my favorite IPA/DIPA brewed in Louisiana.

The whiskey-barrel aged Miel Sauvage in the Fall/Winter is delicious. I don’t care for the wine barrel aged one.

Picked up some Giant Hop yesterday hoping they have improved on that one. I was left disappointed.

All that said, the venue itself from the setup and the personality of the owners and staff is top notch. Beats the shite out of Parish.

Go to Bayou Teche to drink pints there. Go to Parish to bring their beer home to enjoy.

They have some that I've picked up and put in my regular rotation, just everything is in bottles.
Some of the stuff at the brewery is not for distribution either as it is brewery only.

They have a damn good IPA in Fatty. It’s just not a joooos hayze boi. Thank God. Already enough of those on the shelves in Louisiana.

You don't like the air of superiority and the low key not caredness (new word)....

I agree with all that. But those decently good are just barely good IMHO. I just wish they could “hit” on something.

Nice to see my hometown get some love.

I'm biased obviously, but I love the experience there too. On some days the mobile cigar lounge also shows up, and the guy sells great sticks. IMO Big Fatty and Techeticles are both good beers. As far as a lighter drinking beer, Ragin' Cajuns grew on me when I could find it with regularity. The pizza might be considered a bit expensive by most standards, but damn they're good. The Alien Autopsy with the candied jalapenos is awesome.
