Did a search and it has been a while since this topic was discussed.
What good restaurants have a good bar where dinner can be ordered? My work week usuals are Clancy’s and Herbsaint which have small bars where I can eat in peace. Any other recommendations?

Lilette and La Petite Grocery would be at the top of this list for me.

Doris Metropolitan is one of my solo go to's.

Saint Germain's menu is small but everything is well prepared.

And can't argue with the ones above.

Wouldn't it be easier to list nice restaurants where you can't eat at the bar?

I've done it at Commander's, August, Revolution, Luke, Mr B's, Peche, Emeril's, Couchon, Herbsaint,...

I can't think of one where I haven't.

You can’t really do so at the big 3 old line French Quarter places (Antoine’s, Galatoires, or Arnauds). Although, Antoine’s now has that bar that serves snack type food and I think you could at that Galatoires steak house next door, but as far as getting a full restaurant meal off the menu from the main restaurant, I don’t think you can at any of them.

They are definitely the exception rather than the rule now, though.

Ate at the bar in Costera the other day. That place was damn good. I’ll add that you need to make reservations for the bar though. You can’t just walk up, at least not that night.
