They could have changed it to Tigerdroppings is Awesome, and some people here would still wail that they want their mammy brand back.

We probably have some old timers still boycotting a certain corn chip because the company retired the Frito Bandito mascot.

Can Steens with a can opener hole on each side covered with aluminum foil. A staple in every MawMaw’s fridge.

Yep, in the fridge. That cold syrup on hot pancakes was good. Brings back memories.

Just put it to them by going back to the old fashioned way for light and fluffy pancakes with tasty home made Maple flavored syrup.

We never buy these items in the store and our kids and grandkids beg for pancakes and Grandma's home made syrup. One grandson just came back from basic and he cobbed onto the pint jar of syrup that was sitting on the kitchen table and took it with him when he left.

BUTTERMILK PANCAKES
1c All purpose Flour
1t Baking Soda
1t Baking Powder
1/2t salt
1 Egg
1c Buttermilk

Stir together and if the batter is too thick add a bit of water to the desired consistency.
Fry pancakes in a hot skillet with a bit of bacon grease or oil.

MAPLE FLAVORED SYRUP
1c Brown Sugar(packed)
1c White Sugar
1c White Corn Syrup
1 1/4c Water

Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
(Watch carefully so it doesn't boil over.)
Add 1 teaspoon or a little bit more of Mapeline brand Maple flavoring. (Other brands don't seem to have the flavor.)
Stir and enjoy the syrup on pancakes, Waffles, or whatever else.

She has been feeding me for 56 1/2 years now and I seldom find cause to complain (except when she tries that "new" recipe instead of her old reliables).
