Happy Mardi Gras!!! The bruises, pain and headaches are real. It was a brutal weekend.

I was slightly hungover Friday at work following Muses. I ran to Twin Peaks and grabbed a frozen mug. Luckily, it was lingerie day too. Our "waitress" was cute and the beer helped out. The burger wasn't bad either.

After work, I ran to my buddy's to post up at Fat Harry's. The neutral ground on Napoleon was too small for us husky boys.

After a few Beams, I grabbed a hot dog for the Sacred Heart girls. It had a nice snap.

I followed that up with a pizza. It was amazingly warm and pretty good.

The crowds were very friendly, and the weather was outstanding. I think there was an OT float in Krewe D'etat.

I'm pretty sure this guy had never been to a parade before.

After polishing of the fifth, the parades ended. I grabbed some cheese fries on the corner. I love cheese fries. I also go the lady to reduce her price to $4!!

We then walked to my friends' to grab some finger foods. The usual chicken fingers and dip put me over the top.

After a good night of sleep, my bro and I took to the streets to pound out 3 miles. There were plenty of Tulane kids straggling all over the place. They need to get their shite together.

After our jog, my bro and I dined on donuts and fritters. We also had some New Castle. My niece demanded that I draw some shite with her. My renderings of the female anatomy may have been inappropriate, but it was good bonding.

From there, I went home to shower and get ready for the day parades. My buddy was having a party on top of his "erection." His bar was pretty nice, but I brought my own Beam.

He also had a nice food spread. The sandwich station had pork, beef and chicken. I went with the rare beef and extra mayo. I also grabbed some of his crawfish pasta and shrimp and grits. Nothing like setting a good base for the day.

I then went atop the erection and watched Iris and Tucks. It brings a tear to my eye to see that Iris still only allows women to parade with them.

After getting tired from the beads, I went in for some sweets. I grabbed a cupcake from Sucre and a half a donut from District. They were both excellent.

After the parades, we ran to the West Bank to grab a king cake from Hi-Do. They had a lot of interesting people on the streets.

One can never forget when it's Valentine's Day in Nola.

We got home around 5. I took a ten minute power nap. We had reservations at Doris Metropolitan at 8. My plan was to headed to the Quarter around 6:30. I started calling United at 6. 100 calls later, I decided to drive at 7. Parking was atrocious. I found a spot on Decatur after searching for an hour.

We got to Doris and I needed a beverage. The old fashion was very good.

Our server, Johnny, was very nice and professional. The breads were very tasty. The butters that accompanied them were delicious. I was not crazy about the oil, but the crushed tomatoes were great.

We decided to share the porterhouse, potatoes, and asparagus au gratin. I went with the bluefin tuna carpaccio, and the lady went with grilled artichoke. The carpaccio was one of the best things I have eaten in a while. The flavors of the roe and tuna were out of this world. The artichokes were good, but I don't think the lady was crazy about them.

The steak was a good piece of meat. Unfortunately, I thought it was lacking flavor. They had salt and pepper on the plate. You can barely see it on the plate above. I had to add some to the meat. I'm glad there's a nice steak house in the Quarter, but I left underwhelmed. I think I'll stick to Mr. John's and Desi's.

After dinner, we went home to rest. I had to get up early to help my buddy on St. Charles.

I got to the spot at 7, and popped open a few Bud's.

If any of you were jogging, I'm sorry for telling you to pick up the pace. I was just having a good time. You didn't have to flip me off. You're probably lucky I didn't chase you down.

I also snacked on this amazing cheese ball.

As soon as Fat Harry's opened, I grabbed a double Beam. I didn't have ice until the lady showed up.

We had a shite ton of food. I'll just post the pics, instead of trying to list them.

The red beans for breakfast were outstanding. I'm not sure how many oysters I ate. I still smell slightly like charcoal.

My sign helped me catch a lot of beads. You boys in Thoth brought it. Hail Thoth.

My body feels like this abandoned car under the interstate this morning. I wonder if they attempted to grill on the hood.

I will be taking a sabbatical during Lent. I give up sweets, alcohol, pork and red meat every year. I could stand to lose a few extra pounds this year. The thread will likely return the Monday after Easter.

I'll be posted up at Lafitte's early tomorrow. Look for the heart on my arse.

Stay fat, my friends.

Jesus you're one of those douche bags? Guess it's typical of the look-at-me set to also run their mouths at people exercising and minding their own business.

I agree, nothing worse than being that guy. You seem like "that guy" in many situations though.

Minus the Doris pics and the oysters this might be the crappiest collection of food pics I've seen.

You weren't on Foucher with them oysters ?

Can you take a joke? I thought it was funny the guy flipped me off. And there's no way I could have caught him. I had drinking to do.

Man, it's gonna suck not checking out your spread every Monday.
I actually think you will need rehab during lent. No way you can put down the alcohol or sugars OR red meat without help.
Good luck. Come back strong

Walking the streets this morning I saw a lot of people still drinking and a few openly smoking weeds. Also saw a decent amount of puke and panties on the ground. I'm in favor of changing the OT NOLA motto from piss & bums to puke & panties.
