Planting this weekend.

Roma tomatoes
Cherry tomatoes
Asian cucumbers
Various peppers
Carrots
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Sweet onions
Various spring herbs (basil, cilantro, dill, etc)

I still have kale, spinach, winter carrots, mache, claytonia, and arugula going strong from the winter garden.

When those goes to seed later, I’ll plant okra, zucchini, more tomatoes, and more peppers

This is my first year trying. I have no idea what I'm doing but everything is growing.

So far in pots I have:
1 better boy
1 roma
2 cilantro
6 brussell sprouts
1 basil

From seed I started:
Brandywine tomato
Banana peppers
Jalapeno peppers
Serrano peppers
Cucumber
Squash
Zuchini

Going to keep some in pots and then build 2 4x8 raised beds.

I've always wanted to do this. I have a few bucket tomato plants. Since I have no clue what I'm doing. I'd hate to go thru all that work and block off space in the backyard. Then it not work out.

a 4'x8'x12" box is the easiest way to go. You'll have no weeds to worry with and can grow all the tomatoes you want

I highly recommend anyone new to gardening buy this book.

Month by Month Gardening in Louisiana by Dan Gill

I think it is out of print, but it looks like $25 or so will buy you a used copy on Amazon. It lays out specifics on what to do for growing a garden in Louisiana. It also includes chapters on trees, lawns...etc.

Same here. I put my potatoes in Mid January. Some of them are blooming now.
Tomatoes- 2 Cajun( one has golf ball sized fruits on it), 1 yellow pear, 1 sun gold, 2 celebrity, 1 super sweet 100, 1 patio cherry

Peppers- 2 dragon Cayenne, 4 cherry, 1 jalapeno. Will go all peppers once the tators come out. I pruned the tops off the plants and they are bushing out like crazy now.

Herbs- parsley and Greek oregano that overwintered in the bed, German Thyme, sweet Basil.

Everything is doing great but the basil. It is not a fan of the cooler nights lately. I will bounce back and become a weed.

I planted two weeks ago. ( Nothing from seed though)

Parsley- growing like crazy
Chives- almost a foot tall now
Sweet basil - Not as tall as i would like, but there is a second growth happening at the bottom
Rosemary
German thyme
Catnip - almost out of control
Patio tomato- only about a foot tall, but I've seen some very small fruit emerging
Jalepeno and red bell - not growing as fast as I'd hoped. Are these normally a slower grower?

My parsley lasted through freezes and snow this year. It's still beautiful, full and green. I've never had it grow so well before.

If I grew that, the neighbor cats would really never leave my yard. As it is, they go into the garden already and I don't want them in there.

I have the catnip in a pot with some kind of cat grass. Every afternoon my wife takes it off it's stand and puts it on the deck and our cat will rarely touch the catnip if it is still on the plant. She wants us to remove a few leaves for her. She will, however, destroy the cat grass daily.

I got sick of a parsley plant about three years ago. I havent watered it or done anything to it since, but its still alive and as healthy as can be. I just cut it back every once in a while.
