Mama Della's NY City Pizzeria gets really good reviews here, and you could get there pretty easily from where you're staying...it's on Jefferson between Corporate and Essen.

They had great beer specials when they first opened. I think EVERYTHING was only a dollar. Pretty sweet. I liked watching NBA games there. The 2010 Finals Game 7 was particularly fun. The whole place was going for the Celtics except for me and some other random guy.

I ended up getting a pizza from Red Zeppelin, it was really close to where I was staying.
Wasn't too bad, decent crust. Nothing spectacular but better than we have here in Lake Charles.

Just not true. I went to NYC last week, had pizza at one of their top joints, it was very good, but nothing that is so amazing that it can't be matched. I enjoy the pizza I have in BR just as much.

People just always say stupid shite like that on here. Someone asks where they can get X in BR and it's always met with "Once you find out, tell me, because you can't get that here." That may be true for something like dim sum, but pizza? Please.

If it makes you feel any better Red Zeppelin and Schlitts are about on the same level. I actually like Schlitts better.
Those saying Mama Della's is the best pizza in BR are absolutely correct.

I mean, I agree that it can only be so good. I've never had a pizza and said "WOW AMAZING!!".. mainly because I don't care for pizza a ton.
But anyone not braindead could see/taste the difference between a pizza from somewhere like Mama Della vs. ... well anywhere else in BR. (Other than that yummy food truck)
At the end of the day, Mama Della pizza may not be the best food I've ever had, but it's certainly the best pizza.

i know jack warner is an ego-maniacal, pompous, arrogant frick, and under no circumstance would i ever support his shitty, greasy pizza. (and for being a restauranteur, he is a very shitty tipper)

i've heard this about jack too .. and the funny thing is he has had ZERO to do with any of their success .. that dude's the ultimate coat tail riding moocher ..
