Anyone had Oysters this year?

Wanting to get a couple sacks of oysters tomorrow. Wondering if anyone has picked up any this year yet and if they were any good?
I’ll probably grab them at Tony’s if I don’t find another source. Going to charbroil half and have the other on the half shell.

Picked up a sack for New Year’s Eve from a local seafood place in Raceland. They were big and salty; really good. Charbroiled them. Oysters were from Montegut.

Had some of the best gulf oysters I’ve ever had in Santa Rosa beach a couple weeks ago. Restaurant said they’re coming out of Alabama. Perfect size for raw, super salty, and clean.

I've been putting off getting a sack but will probably get one this weekend for the wife and I to eat some raw, fry some and maybe even charbroil some before the Saints game.
I've talked to a couple people I know that has gotten them and they said they were real good.
Still don't like the price for the quantity you get, but that's how it is now and there's no going back to full sacks like years ago. I even called places in Reggio and Shell Beach and the suppliers said they don't get full sacks anymore either, just those mini-sacks.

Had some two weeks ago at Basin next to the Bulldog. They are usually good there, but these were average at best.

Yes, good crop so far from what I've had.
3 different places in the last month had huge oysters

Rouse's in Lafayette had small sacks with a dozen each around Thanksgiving time. I charbroiled two dozen.
So I'd imagine even more plentiful now.

Been through 3 mini sacks this season, one from West LA, one from East LA, and one from Texas. All three were great.

Got some from Macho Naquin on FB. Picked them up in Montegut. Really fat and salty. It's been blowing 20MPH for the last 3 days here so oyster might be slim picking this weekend.
