I see it at fresh market and it looks like a good piece of meat. It reminds me of halibut. Any of you guys cook it? I am thinking of baking it with a lemon butter sauce.

Cod holds together well and makes great fish tacos.

If you fry it, cut into small pieces, it's a little easier to work with that way.

Cod is very common where I live. It's like the catfish of the northeast. So we cook it all the time.
One very easy recipe I enjoy is to cook it in the oven in parchment paper with olive oil, salt, pepper, thyme, capers, and some thinly sliced lemon.
Couldn't be a simpler recipe but very tasty.
As others have said, it's a great fish to grill or fry for baja fish tacos as well.

Cod gets knocked for not having any taste. I love it because its cheap and will take up any flavor you want it to. I typically place on a bed of veggies and lemon slices, then make a lemon caper butter sauce to add after grilling or baking. Foil packets make for easy cleanup however you cook.

Perfect fish for beer battered fish and chips.
Baked or grilled served with a beurre blanc sauce on top is also good and rich.

Thanks all. By the time I made it to fresh market they were out. Maybe tomorrow night.
