As in real Tacos and Torres? In other words no Superior Grill which while I do think it's quite good for what it is; it is inferior Mexican as far as authenticity. Thx

Because Superior is Tex Mex not authentic Mexican. Two different things. No clue on authentic Mexican and I'm anxious to see other replies.

MR Taco is excellent

Mi Padres has excellent brisket tacos

but for authentic, I would go to the place on Seigon that has its own grocery store attached.

what makes something "authentic Mexican"? Serious question.

My thoughts would be food that people from Mexico actually eat vs. a modified version prepared by gringos using similar ingredients.

Hard taco shells
beef
some type of dish with a flour tortilla lathered in yellow cheddar cheese

All things that aren't really authentic mexican food.

Friend once told me that sour cream is never used in real Mexican food either.
True or false?

Taco N Sabor on College. The only way I can order is to smile and point at the menu. It's phenomenal.

La Morenita on Florida. It's a Mexican grocery store that has a sit-down restaurant section. Suggest you brush up on your Spanish before you try to order.

I'm pretty sure that crema is used instead. It's very similar to sour cream, though.

Also, La Morenita and La Tienda.

It's been closed for a while, hasn't it? I used to love that place.
