Haven't lived there in many years but I would guess that Shogun is still up there with the best

Recommend: Korean BBQ is the new hibachi and it is excellent. Also Hot Pot for a similar experience but with broth and add-ins.

New to you maybe. But I agree. A good Korean BBQ place is excellent. I've been fortunate to have been to some nice ones in the Chicago, L.A. and Raleigh metro areas. Sure there are dozens of great ones in Houston as well. Went to one in NOLA years ago that was ok.

Went to Ikura on Carrolton a few times and it wasn't bad. I'd go back.

Apparently it's still there.

The hibachi is fine there. The real kicker is their “tuna sandwich” roll. No rice. Raw tuna replaces the bread and the crab mixture makes up bulk of the middle contents with nice layer of avocado in the middle.

Miyako is fun to bring your kids and a pack of their friends for dinner. Otherwise it's just OK.
