very good. id recommend not getting the 'skin' on steak, though. sounded like a cool idea, but just didnt work.

Exactly. Found it very dry. Tried some of same steak without skin and it was incredible.

Will go back.

The skirt with skin is completely different than a normal steak. It is a two part cooking process. They begin by basically confiting the portion, cooking it really slow in its own fat. So it is cooked all the way through. Then they chill it and grill it when ordered.

But we are willing to say without a doubt that La Boca is the best steakhouse in New Orleans.

Easily my favorite place in N.O. to get a steak. I haven't even felt tempted to set foot in the new Ruth's Chris.

What's your favorite cut, there?

Dont get a regular cut of steak there. Hanger or Flank or Skirt are very memorable there.. NY Strip, Filet and others are good but dont set the place apart from other steakhouses imo.

Fries and empanadas are good sides.

Forgot to mention the sweetbreads. They look like chicken breasts, plump, juicy, and chargrilled they are served with a lemon wedge.

another great thing about La Boca is it is perfect for group dinners they have group menus where they bring you almost everything on the menu for around $50 a head not including booze.

I went last night and it was outstanding...

Had the hangar steak, flash fried broussel sprouts and fries... The steak was incredibly good, didn't want it to end

Started off with the provolenta...

I will definitely be back...prices weren't as bad as I though they would be either

In addition to the great odd cuts of steak that they have, I love the wine selecions there. Pretty affordable wines that you can order by the half bottle so you can try different stuff.

The scotches are pretty good too.
