I used to like going to Avenue Pub, but I rarely go anymore. I get a weird vibe from the bartenders each time I've been. Sorta like a who are you and why are you here thing. Idk maybe it's just me.

They play off of the owner's air of superiority.

Unfortunately their tap list has become mediocre 90% of the time and getting something from the cellar is like asking to move a mountain.

Teche is the one in state brewery I haven’t been to and I like their stuff.

Avenue Pub, if you don’t know the bartenders you are going to get treated like a tourist. Is that right? Probably not but there it is.

Mug club discount makes it a $42 bottle of beer.

All the owner cares about these days is getting on tourist "best-of" lists anyway. If anything the fact that the bartenders don't know you should only help. Oh, and don't forget to bring your wallet since they'll be charging like $3/oz for the beers (tourist "best-of" pricing).

Yeah their tap list seemed good when I was first getting into craft beer, but it's pretty meh nowadays. If I'm making the trip to NOLA I'm 100% hitting Courtyard every time. Between their house beers and guest taps it's hard to beat.

Well at least now I know who not to ask about beer lol.

Sours are great. I prefer variation to the hundreds of hazy IPAs and barrel aged stouts that's seem to have taken over craft beer.

But to each his own.

It isnt just you

I def feel like they dont want my money, and it honestly pisses me off

I have no tats, no beard, and I usually wear cowboy boots. I feel like they want to kill me for ordering a beer in their bar

I've been there plenty of times when someone walked in and order "any light beer"

Is there any website with events listed for the week?

I went there a lot between 2013-2015 when they seemed to have a great tap list and friendly bartenders, but I've noticed the same trends and haven't been there in over a year. Their tap list doesn't seem as great any more. Staff gives off a "why are you bothering me" vibe. Plus the options are much better than they were a couple years ago
