I still like Avenue, in part because its somewhat of a neighborhood bar for me. That said I also agree with most of the comments about selection and feel. Honestly I've been more for the bourbon upstairs than beers lately.

I am disappointed in their ACBW events this year. They used to hold epic ACBW events, I used to spend multiple drunk evenings there every year during ACBW. This year I might not go once.

Well I guess the next question do the distributors care about ACBW? Do the local breweries?

A bar can only order what's available unless they brew their own beer?(probably illegal for most places)

Good question. We can only do what we are allowed to do, brewing beer isn't one of them. As for the other questions,we can't speak for them,so we'll let others answer those.

Im not advocating for ave pub, i never go there myself anymore, BUT having hill farmstead and tired hands there is pretty epic.

Well at least now I know who not to ask about beer lol.

Sours are great. I prefer variation to the hundreds of hazy IPAs and barrel aged stouts that's seem to have taken over craft beer.

But to each his own.

I'm kind of surprised of amount of disdain for The Avenue Pub in this thread. Anyone else beginning to think the craft beer scene is eating its own?

Went to Avenue earlier this week tired hands was pretty damn good...atmosphere seemed like the standard hipster craft beer scene...

had some VayCay& Stray Cat (phrasing) @ Corporate BrewHouse last night and an infusion they did...think it was Citra with Abita Hop-On. Definitely better lol.

Are the local breweries doing anything cool this weekend? Besides standing in line @ Parish ??

Nah. I was hating on them years ago. The crowd is finally catching on. I'm just ahead of the curve

Ratings are subjective, but the demand for Parish remains high. Supply and demand, bud.

I think Corp must have gotten their new crop of bartenders from Avenue pub.

Personally,I didn't get the hipster vibe there. Just a bunch of dorks.

I got a mash up of hipster/redneck/typical server @ Bulldog though
