If they have it:

If not, my go to is just regular Asahi. Really don't know if it "pairs well", but it's beer...can't go wrong with a beer.

Just wondering if you have tried cold sake. I much prefer it over that hot shite.

Try a nice dry riesling to go with sushi.

Or a Sauvignon Blanc. A buttery Chardonet goes well with fish as well if you don't mind the sweetness.

-Beer
-A Verdejo-Sauvignon Blanc blend
-A crisp, dry rosé
-An Albariño or Valdeorras white (Valdeorras goes better with seafood/shellfish than sushi IMO)

Don't drink wine with sushi. It's off putting and doesn't pair well especially if you are having any type of wasabi or even cleansing your palette with ginger.

Sushi needs clean and crisp. The mentioned sakes, vodkas and crisp beer. If you need a wine sort it should be a good champagne.

I know you said no sake... but a glass of Pearl served cold is the only way to go IMO.

I've only had one. It was an eszencia or however it's spelled and it was much too sweet which is not my style. I would not know about any others as I haven't tried them.

But I'd be willing to bet you won't find that in any sushi restaurant in Baton Rouge or many places for that matter.
