My modest post history will tell you I'm a fiend for Indian food. I dare anyone on this board to try Al Noor on Coursey and not declare it the best Indian food in Baton rouge. Tiny spot, a few tables and a couple of employees. Samosas, chicken 65, saag, garlic Naan you name it and it will be better than any of the full service places in town. Although inconvinient geographicaly, It's my favorite new place for a to go order.

I'll have to check it out.

Swagat is fantastic! I would have a hard time believing it is better than that.

Nope. Al-noor is in the shopping center with the Walmart neighborhood market. Swagat is further east.

The original Al Noor closed, but there is a location hidden next to the Wal Mart neighborhood market. I told the owner she should update her google info. Yet another reason I bring attention to it. If drumming up some customers that were unaware makes them more succesful, I reap the tasty benefits when they stay in business. Cheers!

Didn’t know it existed until I was yelp-searching my new hood. Menu looks great and it’s on my short list.

Good to know. I’ll be going there soon then to try.

Not trying to hijack, but I was in Atlanta last weekend and I had by far the best Indian food.

Best Indian food out there

I used to like Al Noor when it was at its original location.

I like Swagat even more. It's quite possibly the best Indian restaurant in the state.

Did you miss the Baton Rouge aspect of this post? Although I am an admirer of the Punjabi D. Boys, I was spreading a li'l love for the local team. And yes, they have "curry"
