Akorn finally bit the dust and I'm ready to play with the big boy ceramics

thinking about the Vision grills from Sams. Looks legit for $500

That is something that really shouldn't be posted on a open forum...

Why does any past price matter if the option is no longer available?

It doesn't matter what the price was, this was something unique, you won't find it anywhere else. It took a very long time to get to the point where we could even get our hands on them to be able to make the order.

Are you still selling them? If everything goes well Friday I might be looking for one to replace a gas pit.

I get its not the group buy price or anything. Not asking for that.

I know someone who used to work for Primo in Georgia. I'll check to see if he has a connection still.

Not making any promises here. I sent him an email. We'll see what happens.

Curious as to what happened to it? Mine is several years old and no issues.

Bottom ash pan rusted really bad and the clips holding it up came off.

I'll take pictures tonight but the flange is brittle and has some serious rust to it. Wound up drilling a hole and holding it up by the S hooks from the cart to cook burgers yesterday.

I'm debating ordering a replacement for $40 and a new cast iron grate (that too has shown some rust lately ) . I loved my Akorn and have had it for a little over 3 years but not sure I want to spend $75 to get the parts. It was always gonna be my training wheel grill as I entered Komado cooking so now I'm looking at either the Sams Vision Kamado for $500 or a top line one
