What’s a good after work place to go today in this area? I’m familiar with the Cottage but what else you got? Nothing fancy either.

That place by Kamal's still open? Was like a club atmosphere.

I was a Sammy’s regular and a couple of their staff went to Porch Light. Now it’s my go-to

Not a lot of beer options, but the bartenders are good (except one)

Has a good laid-back feel and decent prices

Apps are tasty

I prefer Coop's on 621 over The Cottage. Great bartenders and good drink prices. It's in the back of a strip mall, not far from the interstate.

Nic’s for the young night club vibe
Gilla for local microbrews
Park place for smoking, shooting pool, and watching sports at a dive bar vibe
Tiger Tavern as a good all-around bar with craft beer, daqs, and a live band (usually no larger than a trio).

Fred’s is your boat people bar.
Bayou Bar is a biker joint.
Fat Catz is a blues dive bar (kinda like phil Brady’s)

That looks exactly what I would imagine a bar in an old strip mall on 621 to look like.
