Got some Bartlett pears at Rouses a few weeks ago... I think I left my teeth in one of them... Those things never ripened..

The Cadillac of pears (IMO) is the Bosc pear. Brown skin. Nice and crisp, with a buttery mouthfeel. Not always in season. It has no equal.
