That gravy in the picture does not look that legit.

I agree that some of those aren't even on the proper bread to be considered po-boys.

I find it funny that Walker's BBQ made the list, but the people they rent space from, Castnet, didn't.

The conquistador at Zunzi's is a pretty tasty sandwich. Huey's on River st makes a decent muffaletta. I have never tried a "poboy" in Savannah.

Right. Only way to get a decent po-boy is to get some good banh mi bread from Hong Kong market on Jimmy Carter and make it yourself.

Let them think it's good. Lake Charles doesn't have much.

Go to AJs seafood in Marietta, they are legit poboys. Also a praline shop is next door

pralines

If I ever had to order my "last supper", it would consist of those 2.

I won't vote for Parkway as they picture an oyster poboy...which is an impossibility there most days.

yea that annoys me. I constantly see Parkway up there on those stupid Gambit best of new orleans awards for Oyster. I'm frankly kind of bored with parkway. The shrimp is great but that's about all that appeals to me there anymore.

Also, New Orleans original daiquiris on Carrollton & St. Charles has the best roast beef.

They have a kitchen?

I guess they had to have a Baton Rouge place, so that's why they put Poor Boy Lloyds in the mix. Because they're pretty mediocre and they're up against some of the best places for po-boys in the state (Bear's, Olde Tyme, Parkway). Kind of like Holy Cross being in the same region in the NCAA tournament as Kentucky, Duke and Kansas.

Unfortunately that is 35 miles away from home, meaning an hour drive each way in this town.

BUT, thanks for the heads up! I will check it out when I have biz up that direction.

From Lilburn/Tucker to AJs is 35 miles. I suppose there are times during the week when I can guarantee less than an hour, but not many.

... all depends on what time of day you're trying to go from Lilburn/Tucker to Marietta, but it's easily a 45 minute drive one way.

Ive had one of those before in LC. All the rave over there but it should not be placed in the "poboy" category.

More of po-sammich than a traditional po-boy.
